There are few types of attire that make a woman look as splendid as she does in a Saree. Here are a few for those special occasions. So beautiful that each makes you hold your breath. Delicate embroideries, shiny sequins, gentle fabrics all add to the queenly affair. Experiment with the evergreen look like designer Rohit Bal’s shimmering gold cape.
Return of the ‘Indian’ Male
We have seen many versions of the hipster fashion breakouts from sneaker-crotch pants look to the chinos-denim shirt avatar and its many variations. This Spring-Summer looks bright with all new Indo-western coming to the forefront. Wendrell Rodricks is all about ethereal white dhotis while Ashish N Soni brings forth tailored jackets with monotone kurta-pyjama. Rohit Bal takes it up a notch with floral printed Jackets, Jodhpurs and loafers!
They came and they conquered, both, our hearts and minds! Poonam Pandey made our jaws drop with this fabulous rendition of the churidar-salwar. Teaming long jackets with lehengas and sarees, as seen in Rohit Bal’s, Samant Chauhan’s and Vineet Bahl’s creations, seem to be the new statement of the season. Graceful and poised, we are digging the look. Joy Mitra achieves a similar result with a long kurti paired with a plain lehenga. Tarun Tahiliani’s innovates and impresses with this very experimental indo-western creation.
Skirt-it the Indian way
Floral printed, shimmery, zari-worked, patch-worked, heavily embroidered and dainty all the way. Lehengas don many avatars this season and go from being overtly opulent to a simple summer wedding affair. Samant Chauhan brings out the best of pastels with contrast embroidery while Vineet Bahl embarks on sorbet colours with over the top embroidery.
