Shark Tank India Season 5, Episode 1: Did Kunal Bahl Crack His First Deal Of The Season?

The wait is finally over. Shark Tank India is back with another action-packed season, with bigger bets and bolder investments. The stage was set and the Sharks returned with new energy and high spirits in hopes of witnessing some game-changing pitches and making profitable deals.

The first episode of Shark Tank India Season 5 featured a dynamic panel, including the OG Sharks like Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal & Titan Capital as well as Mohit Yadav, co-founder of The Minimalist and the newest addition to the panel with this episode marking his debut in Shark Tank India.

From natural wellness products to saving the world from boring kids monsters, here are some of the highlights from the first episode of Shark Tank India Season 5.

An amusing yet interesting shayari-style pitch kicked off the first episode of the season. Born out of a boys’ trip to Thailand, the idea of The Croffle Guys instantly caught the Sharks’ attention. A group of four passionate friends, or “bros” as they would like to call themselves, Rahul, Annaya, Mihir and Amay came together in 2025 to bake croffles, a love child of waffles and croissants. With a wide range of fillings, from sweet to savoury, all the Sharks were quite impressed by the taste of the product as much as, if not more, by Rahul’s acting skills. Namita held on to the croffle for over 15 minutes during the pitch to test its crispness. Do you think their ask for ₹1crore for 1% equity was met by any of the Sharks?

After the lingering taste of croffles, it was time for the next pitch. Manoj Das, an “aromatherapist and naturopath” from Jaipur entered the tank with confidence and clarity and introduced his wellness brand, Lewisia to the Sharks. Focused primarily on, but not limited to skincare and haircare, the entrepreneur was faced with several tough questions regarding the usage of natural ingredients for manufacturing the products by Anupam and the reason behind such diversification of products by Kunal. After the intense debate and discussion with the Shark Tank panel, how did Manoj fare?

What came next instantly uplifted the mood of the Sharks and the energy on the show. One of the cutest– yet–youngest pitches came from the 5-year old Siya Gupta melted the hearts of all the Sharks. She accompanied her father, Ravi Kumar Gupta, the founder of the kids’ clothing brand Guggly Wuggly. Based in Lucknow, he started the brand with a vision to save children from “boring clothes monsters,” as he likes to call them. Addressing a gap in the market, he aims to build a kids’ apparel brand that offers durable, high-quality clothing at affordable prices. Did his passion and never-give-up attitude manage to convince the Sharks for an investment of ₹50 lakhs for 5% equity in the company?
