Keyur, Uday, Dharmin, Kapil & Jigar got together to build Warrior World, an apparel brand for tees, polos, hoodies and sweatshirts inspired by the Indian army, navy and air force. Based out of Surat, the group of founders started their pitch by saying, “Surat mein humein haath jala ke kapda banana nahi sikhate”. The slogans and quotes on their apparel really impressed the Sharks so much so that Varun even read out a few lines that stuck with him.

With a great USP and focus on the apparel, they asked for ₹75 lakhs for 1% equity in the company but did the Sharks get convinced with their cute Gujju accents?
Startup 2: Currently- Real-Time Social Activity Sharing App
Mitesh Shethwala from Ahmedabad realised that the usage of social media had shifted from its initial focus of connecting with people to simply consuming content. Identifying a gap in the market, he launched Currently. It is a social app where users share their real-time activities through selfies and can make plans to catch up or join each other spontaneously. Anupam was quite impressed by the simplicity and clarity of the name while the other Sharks became quite intrigued by the concept itself.

Startup 3: Anjani Books- Platform For Educational, Second-Hand Books & Textbooks
Started by a second-generation entrepreneur, Kaushik Gupta from Lucknow, Anjani Books borrows its name from the founder’s father’s garment shop. Anjani Books is a website for budget-friendly textbooks for school and college students as well as competitive exam prep material and second-hand books. When asked by Varun if this brand has a larger assortment than say, Amazon India, the founder immediately nodded.
