Some of the pitches in the third episode of Shark Tank India Season 5 were proof. The Sharks seemed as cheerful and energetic as ever, with insightful conversations, knowledge exchange and some fun banter keeping the tank in action. The panel for Episode 3 included Namita Thapar, founder of Arth by Emcure, Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal & Titan Capital and promoter of Unicommerce as well as Mohit Yadav, co-founder of The Minimalist.

From fueling the needs of the Indian defence forces to a man’s inner fantasies, Episode 3 saw diverse pitches with interesting anecdotes. Here is the episode at a glance.

Ashish Lath, the founder of SaveSage, entered the tank with confidence and introduced his AI-driven platform for managing credit card rewards. This CFA from Mumbai was always on the lookout for deals and that’s how the startup took shape. When Kunal shook hands with him and shared how the founder had worked for him many years ago, Anupam jokingly remarked, “Yeh valuation karna bhi yahan se seekha?” to which he responded by saying, “Kunal se toh sirf humble hona seekha hai”. When called a “bargain hunter” by Anupam, he was quick to qualify the term to a “value hunter”. But was his encyclopedia-level knowledge and witty replies enough to convince the Sharks to make him an offer of ₹1 crore for 1% equity in the company?

This was followed by a revolutionary idea presented by Ahmad Faraaz, Harshit Awasthi, and Sashakt Tripathi, the BITS Pilani alumni trio called Kalam Labs. Kalam Labs is a stratospheric aerial research lab that creates near space aerial vehicles, with the objective of making the Indian military atmanirbhar. Upon being asked about future plans, they expressed their vision of creating a constellation of floating aircrafts, available for the defence forces. The solid goal behind their startup impressed the entire Shark Tank panel but did their mini fighter jets land them their ask for ₹2 crore for 0.67% equity?

The last pitch of the episode definitely lightened the mood of the Sharks as Vikas Dahiya and Praveen Mishra, founders of Panteazy, landed a series of puns in their introduction. An intimate clothing brand, focussed primarily on bright, colourful and quirky briefs made for fantasies, their hopes of “Kachche din aayenge” left the judges in splits. Claiming that it’s not just an underwear but an “underwow”, they proposed an ask of ₹50 lakhs for 5% equity to fulfill their dream of making “andar ki baat sundar”.

Don’t wait to find out who cracked a deal because the third episode is live. For more such fun and interesting anecdotes, tune into Sony LIV, every Mon-Fri at 8 PM & watch the Sharks live in action.

All it takes is a solid idea and a strong will to make it work.
