Shark Tank India Season 4 Episode 39: Innovation and Sustainability Meet in the World of Lifestyle, Art, and Agriculture

Shark Tank India is in full swing and so are the Sharks and the pitchers. With an undeterred enthusiasm and high spirits in every episode, Sharks are witnessing such wonderful pitches that amazes them. This episode’s panel comprised of Kunal Bahl, founder of Snapdeal and promoter of Unicommerce, Aman Gupta, founder of Boat, Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, Ritesh Agarwal, founder of OYO and Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

From locally-produced cheese to young musical pandits, here’s the episode 37 of Shark Tank India Season 4 at a glance.

The first pitch was by a group of colleagues turned friends turned business partners. Niket Raj Dwivedi, Aishwarya Raj Pandey, Harsh Dwivedi and Prateek Kaien got together to introduce Medial, a professional social media platform devised to provide a space for working professionals to validate ideas and seek professional advice. While they expressed their aim to provide anonymity, Anupam reacted by saying, “Aman can ride the boat but you can’t ride two boats”. Was their ask of ₹50 lakhs for 1% equity met after all?

The next pitch was by this traditionally-dressed duo, Arpan Kalotra and Bhimsingh Ghanghal, from a small village in Gujarat. Belonging to the Maldhari community that are known as caretakers of livestock, they started Panchal Dairy, an artisan cheese making facility from locally-sourced goat and sheep milk. They ended their pitch with, “Iss cheese ko taste karne ke baad aap bhi bologe kya cheez hai”. While their ambition and enthusiasm brought a new energy into the room, were they able to secure a deal of ₹20 lakhs for 10% equity in the company?

The final pitch was the star of the show. Receiving a standing ovation from all the Sharks for the first time ever in the history of Shark Tank India, the performance of the young chirpy choir of Music Pandit literally “made our day” in the words of Aman. An online music school run by Serah John from Chennai providing musical guidance to 6-14 year olds across India and in over 15 countries, this innovative startup has interactive pedagogy that enables kids to hone their musical skills via online group classes on a weekly basis. Did the great response on the performance mean they received their ask of ₹50 lakhs for 1% equity?
