Shark Tank India Season 4, Episode 11: “Ya Toh Earn Karna Chahiye Ya Learn”- Ritesh’s Entrepreneurial Gyaan And More From Today

Two weeks of this power-packed season 4 of Shark Tank India have passed by and the energy and enthusiasm among the Sharks as well as the entrepreneurs has only risen with each episode. Today’s panel had Namita Thapar – Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Aman Gupta, founder of Boat, Ritesh Agarwal, founder of OYO Rooms, Peyush Bansal, CEO of Lenskart and Anupam Mittal – founder of Shaadi.com.

The pitchers in today’s episode showed immense potential and calibre as the Sharks were seen praising them for their courage, vision and hardwork. From a water brand built on a colour scheme to a business idea targeting the gaming console industry in India, Sharks in Episode 11 saw a diversity in the pitches.

The show began with the first pitch from Ravi and Tushar Mundada, brothers and co-founders of Aqua Peya. With an ask of Rs.70 lakhs for 2% equity, these distribution channel masters are headed towards making a big beverage business in the country. This raised eyeballs as most Sharks questioned the existing competition in the industry and scalability to which Ravi wittily replied, “Yeh samandar hai, abhi lote se nikaal rahe hain, kal bucket se bhi nikaal lenge”. While their packaging reminded Sharks of popular drinking water and aerated drinks brands, Peyush even called them a “copy brand”. However, there was one Shark who was keenly interested from the beginning. Who was it and did he/she make a deal? You’ll have to watch the episode to find out.

Moving on from this, the next pitchers were a group of three friends who started their entrepreneurial journey from their engineering days and went on to name it Jarsh. Named after Ironman Jarvis, this business of manufacturing safety gear for industrial workers is led by Kaustabh, Anand and Sreekanth from Hyderabad. Beginning with the growing safety hazards that are fatal for such workers, one of them comes wearing all the gear available in the market, complaining of how it is annoying for him to wear. While he goes to change his clothes, Namita tests her Telugu speaking skills with the rest of the pitchers and Aman remarks, “Where have you been learning this?”. To this, Anupam cheekily responds, “She has a lot of time on her hands”. During the helmet demo, Aman recalls how one of their videos went viral and is quite impressed by their work for the police force. However, did he or any of the Sharks fulfil their ask of  Rs.50 lakhs for 1% equity?

The last pitch of the episode made the Sharks slightly emotional as Ayush Chauhan, an IIT dropout who started Dacby, a platform for buying and selling pre-owned goods. His confidence in his potential and never give up attitude inspired the Sharks and Namita even stated how Ayush reminds her of Ritesh in his early days when he mentions that he has very less cash in his bank. He still wants to continue his business and truly believes that it’ll become big one day. When asked about the name, he honestly responds by saying, “Dot.com sasta mil gaya iska” to which Anupam remarks that he has spoken like a true entrepreneur. But does his honesty help him bag  Rs.75 lakhs for 2.2% equity?
