The first pitcher entered with a positive attitude and high Gujarati energy. Rahul Shah, stepping away from his 500 Cr. family business and putting his pharmaceutical degree to use, introduced us to Yaan Man, a cosmetics brand solely dedicated to men’s beauty. While the judges were a little apprehensive about the inhibitions amongst the Indian men regarding using makeup, Yaan Man’s demo totally blew their minds. Performed under a minute, this quick and easy makeup routine made the Sharks think twice. While there were concerns about establishing a new category and Aman saying, “Tere dhandhe mein bahut risk hai”, did anyone agree to “Mazaa aayega kaam karne mein” and offer Rahul his original ask of Rs.50 lakhs for 6% equity?

The tea drinking and loving nation that India is, any new innovation in the industry requires a lot of effort to establish itself amidst the existing major players. However, Woolah Tea’s co-founders, Upamanyu Borkakoty and Anshuman Bharali, truly believe that they can break in. How? With their world’s first bagless tea dip. Sourced from organic farms in Assam, their tea ensures true flavours while their packaging ensures sustainability. With these factors in mind, they asked for Rs.50 lakhs for 1.66% equity. With a lot of conflict and several offers, Anupam countered Namita’s point by stating, “Main jo baitha hoon, main institution hoon”. Were the Sharks convinced to make a deal then?
