My journey with Snapdeal began in 2015
I completed my post graduation in 2014 and joined our family electronics manufacturing business. My father met with an accident and I was on my own to manage the business. Unable to cope up, there was a steep decline in revenue with the long credit cycles leaving us in debt. I realized that working in a private company was impossible for me. With expenses soaring high, I had to do something that was quick and without much capital investment. I came across the concept of the marketplace and my journey with Snapdeal began in 2015.
Within 3 months, I started getting more than 300 orders a day on Snapdeal
It took only 7 days to get my products live on the Snapdeal. Other sites however shared a timeline of 6-7 months to get started. Within the first 3-4 months, I started getting 300+ orders a day. In the last 6 months, my business has grown more than 8 times on Snapdeal. In fact, 30% of my total orders today come from Snapdeal.
A part-time business became a full-time family business with Snapdeal in no time
My first income on Snapdeal was around Rs 5000. As the business grew steadily, in the first six months I was able to buy gold bangles for my mother. Within 1.5 years, I have been able to buy my parents a big 3 bedroom house and a car. What I started with as a small part-time business has now turned into a full-scale family business.
